""This is the most spoken password in recent days. When you hear that, you tear your nose up, straighten your back, and expose your chest! I'm a woman!
But what do you really think when you're alone? Once you've cooled down and left the chanting crowd, because the magic of the group gives strength, what do you think then? What's in your head?
I often observe beautiful women entering the sea with us, standing on shore, or sitting with us in a circle. Looking objectively: each has something, every special, every absolutely devoted thing/someone, can for hours talk about children, family or work, or silently open their beautiful eyes in unsmile, seeking closeness and understanding. Starting his adventure with the entrance to the water, he most often curls in himself, hiding his arms, regardless of time of year and temperature. This look often says more than the longest monologue.
Freedom Is a Woman
We live in a country where women have to try harder to prove to the whole world that they are at least equal, to appeal for a better salary by doing three times more than men in a similar position, putting all parents, children, partners, husbands, grandparents, friends, neighbours... abolishing more than once a bit of words, often from other women who proved their place, brought up in undeserved belief that they do not deserve FREEDOM.
Freedom Is a Woman
We women born in the 1960s, 1980s often carry on our shoulders the discontent of our mothers and grandmothers, their disappointment with the lives and hardships they faced, they raised us in "service", often accepting many inappropriate words or behaviours in our direction, pushing us in marriage "because of a good home", to the background of feelings, because it will work out. And it worked out! Either in rebellion against a family with a saber and a loved one by its side, but alone, or putting up with it, waiting for God to know what, agreeing to struggle, making for three, giving birth to children, "because perhaps then.", they count on a miracle, putting their eyes all swollen with tea swabs. There's another group of women who consciously decided they wanted to be alone, or decided to wait. The difficulty of this choice involves the label "old maiden" or "lesbian" and the judgment that slutty or devota. Because our Polish world, although European, is a wall and a man was allowed more.
Freedom Is a Woman
We women of the peerage remember the fight for the Freedom of our parents, the wall and the Wałęsa, the martial law and the nothingness around. Raised in lack of wealth, but often without love, we gave our hearts to our daughters, showing them what Freedom of Women means, passing on to them, our often unfulfilled dreams of freedom of speech, about the power of woman, about freedom of affection, about the power of the spoken word, and that they always absolutely deserve the best, because they are a woman, beautiful, wise, and worth following their dreams.
Freedom Is a Woman
They, our daughters, look at us with admiration. They always thought that when you're 40 or 50, you're already a grandmother, and meanwhile, we often start our lives now. Because we finally believed that we can tell NO to the husband, who gently speaking did not care about us, that we can tell NO to the boss, who insulted and used, that we can tell NO to parents who expect too much and are still unhappy, we begin to look for YOURSELF. We go straight to those who see more, understand and give strength. We can do more together.
Freedom Is a Woman
When we stand shoulder to shoulder on the shore of the sea, when our bodies fall into Tre, we quickly forget what injustice we put on our bodies and hearts every day and catch ourselves in a cramped embrace to feel closeness, unity and understanding. Then each is equal, each feels the same as the flakes and shallowness of breath and for a moment we feel FREE! The magic of the rising sun makes in this one minute, sometimes a few, feel like Aphrodite, leaving all I have to, I should, I can't, it's not what they say, I'll be late, I won't be able to make what I have for dinner today, etc. It's the moment you feel all your freedom is a woman, and you know that even if the capital stood foot on the beach in Sopot, there's no strength that could take that from us.
Not for a while.
We often come a very long way to give ourselves the right to express ourselves, to say NO, to take care of ourselves, to love myself I will not mention. All of us know, love yourself, then come and love and partner and respect and everything, but how the hell do we love ourselves when we've been told your whole life you're worthless?
I've learned a lot from being east in the Sea of Angels, a lot about myself and a lot about NAS. Every morning is like a gift, like another chapter in the great book of Life. And I absolutely believe that Freedom is a woman! Not because the crowds are chanting on the streets. When I see women who come from different cities and places in the world, who put themselves on the shore at the east, who unzip their suits woven from convictions and limitations and leave them on the shore and go to the Sun with their hands erect, then I know that yes! FREEDOM is within us. And it's up to us how the closest people, the families, the partners, the bosses... And when you doubt yourself and your power for a moment, remember, we're here for you.
There are many men in the Sea of Angels who thank you for being there to support, to participate and to wrap the good word. There is no grade, no imposition, there is respect and recognition. And I wish such a world to myself and to you filled with love and respect for another person, no matter what gender, age, orientation, or social status, and whether it is every day or just sometimes.
Freedom is a woman
I invite you to discover together at the east and not only
